Can Digital Mindfulness-based Interventions Improve Asthma-related QoL?

Psychological issues such as anxiety are common occurrences in asthma, and are associated with poorer outcomes and quality of life. Mindfulness-based interventions have been found to be effective against anxiety and depression in chronic conditions.

A recent RCT compared the differences in asthma outcomes between patients receiving standard care and a digital mindfulness program.

Digital mindfulness interventions are feasible and acceptable adjunct treatments to improve QoL in mild and moderate asthma.

QoL: Quality of Life, RCT: randomized controlled trial, AQLQ: Asthma related quality of life questionnaire, ACQ: Asthma control questionnaire.
