Exercise Rehabilitation Has Positive Effects on Children with Bronchial Asthma

Exercise rehabilitation improves exercise capacity and quality of life in children with bronchial asthma, reported a recent study published in the ‘Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics’.

The study included a systematic review and meta-analysis of 14 studies with 990 participants taken from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, EBSCO, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Weipu Data, and Wanfang Data. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of exercise rehabilitation on exercise capacity and quality of life in children with bronchial asthma.

The key findings were as follows:

Exercise rehabilitation groups had better exercise capacity than conventional treatment groups.
Exercise rehabilitation groups had a significantly higher total score of quality of life, activity score, symptom score, and emotional score.

Thus, the results of the study indicated that exercise rehabilitation has a positive effect in improving exercise capacity and quality of life in children with bronchial asthma.
